Humberto Rubio, Jr., Esq.

Mr. Rubio, received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science and Economics cum laude through the Honors College from Florida International University. He is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and The National Political Science Honor Society.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, where he achieved the Dean’s List. Before graduating from law school in Florida, Mr. Rubio attended law school in Bogota, Colombia at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.  While in law school in Colombia he worked part-time on business transactions and intellectual property matters at a prestigious Colombian firm.

After graduating from law school in Florida, Mr. Rubio worked at a law firm in Coral Gables where he represented domestic and international clientele in commercial transactions as well as litigation matters.  He handled commercial and construction litigation cases for domestic and international corporations. Mr. Rubio’s work also focused on community association law which entailed handling both general representation matters as well as the collection issues of multiple associations. He represented several condominium associations in construction defects litigation. Aside from the commercial transaction matters, Mr. Rubio was also in charge of all intellectual property matters including federal litigation. Thereafter, Mr. Rubio formed Rubio & Associates where he currently practices. Throughout his career Mr. Rubio has represented hundreds of Associations (Condominium and HOA) and has prosecuted hundreds of trademark applications and handled matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board of the USPTO and Federal Court.

Felipe Rubio, Esq.

Mr. Rubio received his Bachelors Degree from Florida International University where he obtained a double major focused on Business Administration and International business.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. He was one of the founding members of the Cyberlaw and Intellectual Property Law section of his school and was a winner and runner-up on the Patently Impossible Project held by the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Dade County Bar Association.

Mr. Rubio also has worked at its family operated firm HUMBERTO RUBIO & CIA which focuses exclusively on Intellectual Property matters in South America with its main office in Colombia. He has been ranked as an IP STAR by Managing Intellectual Property. He has served in various committees at the International Trademark Association (INTA). He is currently a member of the Trademark Offices Committee at INTA.

He has prosecuted trademark and copyright applications and matters before Customs and Border Patrol relating to Intellectual Property. Additionally, he also currently handles matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board of the USPTO (Oppositions, Cancellations and Appeals) and Federal Court litigation.
